The Sony DCR-SR37ES Camcorder Will Make Your Movies Great!

November 25th, 2009

The Sony DCR-SR37ES digital Handycam is an fantastically lightweight camcorder which contains a built-in 60GB hard disk that is capable of recording up to 45 hours of video. Without a tape or disc in sight, recording video to a drive offers you random access to quickly locate desired material, the ability to effortlessly delete unwanted material and easily rearrange the playback sequence. What’s more, there’s no danger of mistakenly recording over something that’s to be saved. And with the Sony DCR-SR37 there’s even a Face Index and Film Roll Index feature for easy browsing and reviewing of your footage.

You’ll enjoy your home movies in excellent quality thanks to the 1 megapixel Advanced HAD CCD. A tiny lens is placed on the top of every pixel which means that as much light as is possible can be used. The result is that the colour noise is reduced whilst the image quality is enhanced. There’s a large, widescreen 2.7 inch touch panel LCD screen for easy scene selection and Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to ensure clean, sharp results when you’re shooting handheld. Featuring a Carl Zeiss lens this camera can zoom digitally 2000x and optically 60x. The sound is of high quality and the zoom feature of the microphone ensures you get the sound you want and not all the background noise.

When not using a tripod you can shake the cam if you are not careful even when you are shooting a still object. SteadyShot is a handy digital image stabiliser that is active every time you shoot. This issue is even more apparent when zooming in on distant subjects. The camera’s sound features allow you to record in close up too by using the super smart microphone which can zero in on the sounds you require such as your subject voices.

One of the great pleasures of shooting film is sharing it with family and friends. It couldn’t be easier with the SR37. You can burn your content to a DVD by simply transferring it to your PC with the supplied USB 2.0 connection. It is even possible to burn from the camera without a PC if you are out and about. You need to buy the optional portable DVD burner for this and that will connect direct to the camera.

Managing your movie collection is hugely simplified by this software which is included with the SR37. Just install it on your PC and it provides a perfect archive for your films which are all just a click or two away. You can arrange them by date, by person, and search through them quickly. From the archive you can burn them to discs, send them to friends or upload them to sites in a matter of seconds. If you connect your SR37 or computer directly to any TV you can view your work on the big screen too.

Military Needs an IQ Enhancement Machine

September 8th, 2009

So often it is hard to recruit all the necessary brainpower into the US military to run all the latest high-tech equipment. In fact some of the latest and greatest dream fighting machines take someone with two-advanced degrees simply to understand how it all works. The US military often has $250,000 to 2 million dollars worth of training wrapped up in their most skilled operators and system engineers. Without them a war cannot be fought.

One of the most pressing issues is that in a free market economy with unemployment at only 4.4% we find that the US military must compete for the smartest, best and brightest and quite frankly they have a hard time coming up with that amount of money, especially considering they are competing against their own contractors in the private sector for that labor.

Indeed most soldiers of any special skill after serving their tour of duty will wish to be released from military service to work in the private sector at sometimes five times the salary. So it is a tough call for someone who wishes to feed their family to dismiss that obligation and re-sign up for further service.

With labor supply tight the US Military needs a way to take someone of a relatively normal IQ and boost this thru the roof to create a super IQ individual to accomplish the important task of running such high-tech equipment and cut down on the cost and time to train them to do so. We are going to have to commit significant R and D monies into achieving this goal. Think on this in 2006.

The Three Most Popular Technologies that Are Used in HDTV Televisions

June 21st, 2009

IF you have thought about getting rid of your old conventional tv set and move to the wonderful world of HDTV televisions you may find that there are many types of screens. Every type of screen has its own pros and cons when it comes to image quality, motion and color projection. In fact, the differences between screen types are so noticeable that people that are HDTV savvy can easily distinguish from an LCD and a Plasma set without having to look at product specifications. So which one is the best one for you? That question can only be answered by you. In this article you will learn about the pros and cons of different technologies that are used when manufacturing HDTV televisions.

One of the most know technologies is Plasma. HDTV televisions with Plasma screens were very abundant during the first years of high definition tv. Plasma screens project warm beautiful colors and dark blacks. When it comes to tv sets, dark blacks translate into higher contrast and more sense of depth inside the image. They also have very fast refresh rates. Older models had a short lifespan and were prone to image burn in. In a sense, Plasma HDTV televisions have the better image quality than most HDTVs but they are heavy and can suffer from burn in if some precautions are not taken. They also require more energy to operate.

LCD HDTV televisions on their part are lighter. They are more energy efficient. When it comes to image quality, colors on LCD sets are very bright. When it comes to blacks, these Tvs do not have the solid dark blacks that Plasma sets have. Although, in recent times manufacturers have worked very hard to create models that can display dark blacks to help enhance the quality of the image. Some sets have a slow refresh rate that leads to image ghosting on fast moving scenes. Overall, LCD sets have a long lifespan and have a lower price than Plasma if you are looking for smaller sets. Be sure to read reviews since the performance of these high definition tvs varies from model to model.

There is another HDTV technology that goes by the name of DLP. DLPs are very cost effective compared to the other ones. Usually DLP technology is used to manufacture huge rear projectors. When it comes to image quality, this technology has lower image quality than the two mentioned above. There have been complaints about a rainbow effect that not all people but some are able to detect on images that are being created by a DLP projector. Some people have reported feeling dizzy after watching television on them.

There are more HDTV technologies available on the market. However these three technologies are the ones that dominate the market. Even with these more modern projection technologies the one that had the best image quality of all, and that is no longer manufactured for HDTV televisions was CRT, the same one that powered conventional television sets.

Possible Complex Life Form Suitable for Martian Environment

May 26th, 2009

What kind of complex life is under the Martian surface and perhaps living in the ground water or ice? Are their remnants of life, which adapted to the changes and went underground? What types of life can we expect? Most scientists are talking about microbes right now, the tiniest forms of life. But why would there only be microbes on a planet, which has most all the essentials for life that we know about here on Earth. This is not to say that we should base our theories of life on Mars by what is here on Earth, but we should be thinking here because all the elements which make up everything here are also there and we know there has been exchanges of material throughout our solar system thru meteorite samples.

We know thru fossil records on Earth that some of our earliest life contained hard shell species, which were able to live in an early Earth atmosphere void of large amounts of oxygen, but had other gases such as CO2. A complex life form on Mars would need to live underground and perhaps be hard shelled, to us this life form would most likely look like what we on Earth would call an insect and have a similar body design and structure.

The complex life form of this type would also need to go thru long periods of hibernation and conserve energy, but would be able to spring to life when conditions arose which were favorable. Those conditions could include chemical reactions with in the organism which were triggered for a defense mechanism to protect itself, electromagnetic energy from dust devils, rain, solar flares or even perhaps volcanic Mars interior eruptions causing steam from underground ice melt.

For one to say there is no life on Mars simply by driving a Rover Around a specific area is simply silly and religious based single god wishful thinking and thus is a far cry from the unlimited possibilities which exist. Indeed, this is only one possible life form on Mars, which fits our understanding of how life on Earth evolves.

The fact is we do not know what type of life exists there, but since the possibilities are endless. We have many species, microbes, viruses, diseases, pathogens, which live here on Earth in very hostile environments for what we consider human life conditions. So we know those probably exist on Mars. But indeed, although many wish to think in terms of the egocentric special human race, we need to do a reality check, because we will find complex life on Mars, we just do not know what it will be yet. Think on this.

Abbreviating Climate Change Swings

January 1st, 2009

It appears rather obvious to me that the climate change and global warming issue between scientists is quite a bit of posturing and it appears that the two percent increase in overall atmospheric temperature over the last 50 years is rather insignificant. It also appears to me that a hole in the ozone is not the end of the world.

But either way if we are truly concerned about the climate change no matter if it is being caused by mankind or not; we also need to consider that perhaps we can do something about its large swings and hyperextension of the pendulum arm. How so you ask?

Well, you see, if the planet gets too hot then the ice caps melt, the ocean current changes, we have a wicked wild weather for a while and then we go into an ice age. But, if we can slowly switch from hot to cold and then from cold too hot over many hundreds of years, then the slow change of the cycle will not affect human civilization to a large degree or cause economies to collapse and civilizations to crumble.

However, if mankind causes and increase in the cold cycle or in this case a warm cycle, then a how far that pendulum will swing. It behooves us to study the weather, the patterns, the cycles and the past to determine how best to proceed without doing the wrong thing. Consider this in 2006.

UAV High Energy Laser Railroad Weapon

August 29th, 2008

The newest high-energy laser weapons are way cool and they are available for ground based units or mobile ground based units like the THEL or even Airborne Units which are mounted in a 747 Jumbo Jet. Sounds like Star Wars or Battle Star Galactica, indeed and it is exactly like that.

Now there is a new program to build one of these units, which is about the size of a refrigerator. This means we can build small High Energy Laser Units, which can be put into a fighter jet and used as the aircraft flies, just like the X-Wing Fighters attacking Darth Vader’s Death Star.

I propose we build these units and put them into UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Why do that you ask? Well if you are going to fight a nation they will have heavy air defenses and it does not makes sense to risk human pilots on the first wave as you work to take out major SAMs or Surface to Air Missile Sites.

Stealth high-energy laser UAVs can be used with weapons on top. When they are ready to fire they invert and fly upside down for a few seconds and then turn back over to become stealthy again. We can send these units in to attack and then use them to take out major infrastructure like railroads. Railroad tracks can easily be seen from above and would not need any Satellite guidance to help locate targets.

These units could be fully autonomous and raise havoc taking out all straight lines which are unnatural to the landscape; that is to say railroad tracks, large buildings, dams and major roads. Consider this in 2006.
